Business

The State of Washington provides some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the country, as well as many natural resources and waterways. At McGavick Graves, P.S. in Tacoma, we work extensively on behalf of companies and business interests in remediation work, reversing the effect of industry on the land and natural resources.

Our attorneys also represent landowners and other interests in land use issues. These include leasing, land use disputes and water rights. In all environmental law matters, our representation is thoughtful and calculated, understanding the societal and public relations issues that can easily shift. We understand the impact this can have, and our attorneys take an approach that handles the delicate issues and delivers results in an appropriate manner.

Legal Counsel For Superfund Site Issues

In 1980, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) was passed. This oversees the cleanup of some of our nation’s most contaminated sites. When a site has been so neglected or contaminated that it threatens the environment around it and other landowners, this act requires that those companies clean up the area.

Representing a Variety Of Interests

Our attorneys routinely represent interests from all sides of these issues. For companies or individuals who are being asked to clean up an area, we deal with the government and other parties directly on behalf of our client. If you have identified an area that needs to be cleaned, we can guide you through the process of bringing it to the government’s attention. Our representation also covers TSCA, tank acts, RCRA and Brownfields Programs.
